Depends on the locker. A full replacement carrier like an ARB or detriot locker should be no problem. With a 'lunchbox' style locker.....like a lock-rite, you may run into issues trying to install one in a limited slip carrier.
I had a local shop install a (Power Wagon-TracRite?) locker in my 9.25 AAM front differential, 2006 ram megacab. It took a little grinding (including a notch for the wires) and an Eaton switch kit. But it works as advertised. Haven't messed with the LSD read except to replace the 3:73 gears with 4:11s.
I don't believe ARB offers anything for the 9.25, but yes on the D44. If I remember correctly, it's a Detroit that's available for the rear. That's one of the reasons I had a new LSD installed rather than a locker when I geared "up" from 3.53 to 4.10. I was worried about "streetability". But I could be wrong...I frequently am! :sombrero:
