I'll have to email my lawyer to see if I can. I'd totally be down to give some $$ to a non profit too, just need to confirm that I can do it.

Definitely talk to a lawyer, I know in my state, unless run by a not for profit, if a purchase is necessary to win the van, its considered a form of gambling and illegal

So, set up a 501(c)3, a 508 or similar for the auction. Alternatively, one could establish an LLC ($100 - $200 usually) in a state where the not-for-profit rule does not apply, then collapse the entity after the raffle is complete, passing the proceeds through accordingly, to the LLC partners.

Further, donating the van to a charity with 501(c)3 status, such as the Blue Ribbon Coalition, whilst contractually stipulating they raffle the van and receive a portion of the proceeds for doing so, puts their lawyers on the hook for making it work if they want the donation.

or, you could just sell it on eBay or Craigslist and take the short term capital gain on it :D

After the UJ conversion it sits at 140". I don't have any experience with flat towing a van, will have to research that.

Well then I wasn't too far off. :) I'd love to know what you advise on the towing after some research. I'm just trying to avoid having to get a special license for a 12k trailer to throw it on. But I certainly don't want to ruin anything either.

SMB West 6.0 from FL is here for some engine work. We'll be yanking the body on this one. Think it has a blown head gasket.

Ambo dropped off today for a front axle & lift install. Customer is handling the transmission conversion so this will be a quick turn around for us.

Chris that post up there with Alpha can and the RV, whose rims are those and can you tell me what they're called ? I'm really thinking of dumping these militaries and the tires that go with them. Heavy as snot, not sure the rims are running true, and I'm starting to have death wobble issues. All the tie rods, ball joints, and unit bearings are solid. Steering box might have some slop, but not sure if that could be the cause or not. In any case the 16.5s are limited in choice and the surplus is getting crappeir by the day it seems.

And tell that Ambo guy.....hhheyyyyy? :)
