I could see something like that but smaller between the frame after I route the exhaust away from its prime real estate.

Relook at the first pic: at the extreme upper left corner of the wheel well, you can just barely see the fill cap I took off an '89 toy 4runner. It's not as fast as OEM, but it works ok.

I'd have to reinstall it in it's cage, but other than that, no. I did it so it came on passenger side so it would be on the same side as the OEM fill. On this particular tank, the fill port went off to the side of the tank, but there isn't any real forward or rear to the tank that I can see.
