6000 lb winch enough for a FJ62

I think the general rule of thumb is 1.5x the weight of the vehicle. That being said I have an 8274-50 rated at 8,000 lbs on my 60. If nothing else, scoop it up and use it for a rear mount. :D

6000 would be better than no winch, but you really want about a 9500 size for your 62. The ideal winch would be Warn M10000, since the ARB is sized for this winch. The problem is, that winch is no longer made. An M12000 can be made to fit.

Ditto... I have always used twice the weight as a rule of thumb.

Is the Warn 10K the one that can be sourced from Australia or is/was that the 12K? I originally bought my 9500HS for my 60 but got a deal on an 8274 ARB bumper so the Cruisers switched winches. Ultimately I want to get another 8274 for the 40 and then use the 9500 as a rear mount for the truck that I'm wheeling at the time. Let's see the little one wil be out of college in 22 years, so...

I think a 6K would work for light self recovery...get a snatch block and you'll be fine...

If it's a great deal, grab it...
