68 Holiday Rambler Build

The sitting area lamp was in good shape so I just cleaned it up and rewired it. I installed 2 LED warm light bulbs from Home depot. Very nice warm light. I think they pull .10 amp each.

I took the bathroom tub out and fixed some plumbing issues. Resealed the tub and installed new drain.

Same camper in Alaska

Hi! Logged onto this site solely to see your pictures and to be able to comment on your thread. We just acquired the SAME CAMPER! I saw you plan to come to Alaska. We live in Fairbanks. Please let us know when you will be in town and we would love to talk '68 Holiday Rambler campers with you!!!

I have been busy working on the Rambler!

Ive Completely redone the countertop and table. Didn't like any laminate we could find locally. I decided to make the countertop out of Birch and use bar top clear epoxy cover. This stuff is awesome. We plan on putting a map on the table and doing another layer of the epoxy.

Also got the interior paneling all put up. After I replaced all the electrical wiring and plumbing. The water system is finished. I replaced every bit of the old copper water lines with new poly lines. I also replaced all the propane copper as well.

The last plumbing related item is a new toilet. The old toilet fell apart when I removed the bathroom to reseal everything.

I also installed a outside shower in the old furnace exhaust hole.

I spent about 4 days polishing all the aluminum that was once shinny. Most of the aluminum runners were almost white in color before it polished them. I am very happy with the result.

I also rebuilt the rear undercover to cover the grey water tank. The rv wasn't designed with a grey water tank so I had to cut the bottom off and rebuild it to fit my needs. I left an opening that I plan to put a door in to access the tank dump valves. I will also put a door in for the sewer hose.

The bed area is also done. I replaced all the boards with nice new ones. I plan on putting felt down on top of that. Just for a soft touch on the edge. We will be getting a foam Mattress before our journey begins.

The interior is getting close! Not much left on the list of basics.

We bought some material to make some new curtains. I hope to get those done soon.

Thanks! Paul?

I will be working more on the exterior over the next few weeks. I need to order a few compartment doors. Then to the body shop for some dent repairs. I'm debating painting it myself (to save money) or to let the body shop do it. $500 is a bunch of money for some white paint!

Updates will be coming soon I hope!
