That pic looks like the same location the the bikers and support vehicles in the movie, "Long Way Around" were having the same trouble. As you remember, a great Russian (Kamaz?) truck had no trouble with that bank, both hauling and towing vehicles..same one?

I hope you realize that I just spent 3 hours at work reading your entire blog. as I see it you have two choices,
1. take me with you!
2. take me with you the next time.

Here's more action from Siberia

In Siberia, driving to the next town is like participating
in a section of the Camel Trophy.

The log bridges across the fast-running streams are
regularly washed out. You can see the remains of
previous bridges down in the ditch in the photo above.
So new bridges are built using materials from the
surrounding forest.

I have a new appreciation for small "backup" TV cameras
that show where the front wheels are pointed.
