7" HID bulb replacement question

I have the chinese 7" HID lights and want to swap out the 6000K bulbs to 5000Ks or even put 50W kits in them. I took them apart as far as I could without unsealing everything. But, before I go any further, I wanted to see if anyone, else has tried or accomplished swapping out the bulbs. If, so wondering exactly what is entailed if even possible?

You won't beable to put 50w bulbs in as your balasts are only 35w. You will need to find out what bulb is in it. Then get 4300k bulbs. better than the 5000k, and miles ahead of 6000k bulbs.

Thanks for trying to help, but all of the info that you gave me, I already realize. I like the whiteness of the 5000Ks compared to the slight yellow of the 4300K, plus the 4300Ks are only slightly brighter. Regarding the 50W, I realize that I need to swap out the ballasts as well.

Just wondering if anyone has been able to or attempted to swap out the bulbs and ballasts.

I have the 4300k and they are NOT yellow. Do you have one of the lights pulled apart now? can you see the ballast and bulb. If so, take a picture. It would probably be easier and better to do a setup like mine. less than 200 gets awesome light. hella 500s with 55w HID retrofitted in them. They work great I get LOTS of light where I need it and the price is right.

Very easy, just open and take apart you will learn as you disassemble your light, no worry about sealing light, you will see they have a gasket all around!

Yeah, anything halogen is easy peasy, What are the insides of the HID like? Do they have the kit type system in there using like an H3 bulb?

Yes indeed, they have the slim ballast and the bulb, you will see some small wires! Unplug wires, connect and done; you may have to extend some wires but most of the time everything fits just right!

Hmm good to know. As the 35w HID are cheap, and swap out to 4300k 55w units would be awesome all housed in the housing. cool. New project. I would try one pencil and one wider beam.
