    Default Early Dakar website.

Check out this great site I just came across - it is focused on the early Dakar races.

Lots of great images and memories!

Christian, thanks for the link. I am really enjoying the photos of the early Dakars. It's great to see the grassroots beginnings of one of the worlds greatest remaining motorsports events.

    Very cool! Thank you.

Interesting to see what became a expedition truck after the '85 race :-)

Dakar Rally is most well renown rally in over the world. In that rally series many of the drivers and rider lost their lives. But that rally remain challenging and interesting for every one.

I realize this thread to be old and worn out, butso am I!

One of the first depictions my eyes showed me was the 1980 200cc Vespa scooter doing rather well in the rally! And to think I would never think such a machine with such small wheels even less suspension!

    Made my day!
