Spent a few years running the Riders Association of Triumph out of the Indianapolis, Indiana dealership with my brother and at the time I was riding a 2001 Triumph Speed Triple...

Then, in 2006, I bought a new Triumph Daytona 675 and spent some time doing a bit of sport touring...

The sportbike led to the desire to ride at speeds that were not advisable on the street, so that led me to purchase another Daytona 675 and set it up as a dedicated track bike...

I've spent the last few years at the race track doing track days and honing my street riding skills...

After earning my way up to the Advanced class at the track, I realized that I really wasn't enjoying the 675 Street Bike, so I sold it in favor of a bike that could handle a 30 day trip to Alaska via Canada during the summer of 2011 and that has led me here...

I've put a few hundred miles on it since I purchased it and have been having more fun than I did riding a sport bike on the street...

Looking forward to seeing the experiences of others on this forum... I also have a 2001 Land Rover Discovery that may eventually get modified to be more off road and expedition capable...

Cheers...

Jeff

My wife and her "newest" expedition bike- a Yamaha WR250r. Amazing bike- does great off road, will cruise 70 + mph on road all day, fuel injected, 26,000 mi. valve adjustments.... She loves it.

She's barely 5 ft tall, so it required "heroic lowering"- seat height is now 5" lower than stock.

July 1995? Solo trip to Death Valley - No fancy panniers (I converted my bicycle saddle bags for use on the motorcycle) No doohickey upgrade. No support like GPS or cel phone. Just enough luck...

This pic was taken around 0830hrs in the morning. It was already 85 degrees on my way out. I think this is Mahogany flat road after I camped at Wildrose peak.

My '89 Honda Transalp, just getting started with it. Hope to have the hard bags by end of the year for a trip to Big Bend in Feb '11. I like to plan way ahead.

The Transalp looks right at home next to the KTM. Looking good! :bike_rider:
