Monteros on craigslist

Observer
I generally don't believe in used engines with low mileage, unless dealership paperwork is provided.
Same goes for timing belt, water pump schemes. No receipts for service or at least for parts = lie.
No plates= most likely a flipper.

In Chicago there's a lot of flippers who roll the mileage, I'd be really careful and do a lot of research. Also check title if the name matches with sellers ID.
I buy 1 or 2 cars/ year , drive for a while , enjoy them and sell them myself. Not to make profit (come out clean if possible or else a divorce), but I really enjoy driving "very different"cars.
Our used car market is pretty big, but I see a lot of cars being re-listed with different mileage within months. Just sad.

The black one in Itasca is up for sale for very very long.

The one in Darien looks really nice.

Not on craigslist but a friend is selling his reasonably equipped 1998 LS/R for $4500

1998 Montero LS 180k Dark Pearl Green W/ tan cloth interior
All services done; Timing, valve guide seals, tune up, radiator rebuild, new starter, alternator etc.
Old Man Emu coils and T-bars
SR axle swap + 4.90 gears
AWD Sport front axle swap + 4.90 gears and REAL Detroit locker
Suspension seats
35x12.5R15 BFG MT KM-2s on steel wheels

I'm sure there's more but that's the important stuff, hasn't been rocked (barely been trailed) and it's in really good condition.

Edit: I had a hand in this build and can verify everything that has been installed, the front axle came from my '99 so yeah REAL Detroit auto locker...
