You're right. I don't know Canadian gun laws but I know of several friends that were up there hunting and they got their rifles into the country legally. Pistols on the other hand are frowned upon there. A friends step father had a shark rifle in his boat in the Gulf of Mexico. A no, no but he had it. He was an older military guy.
