That thing is so cool, I'm so pissed I cant buy it just to drive it around and have fun in.

I'd hate to get it and tear into it to make it some sort of Overland Vehicle, but man would it make a great conversion!

I imported 2 of those into California 2 years ago. They are really cool but also REALLY slow. About 65 MPH top speed going downhill floored. They are slow or slower than an old aircooled VW bus. On a good hill climb empty you will be at 35 mph pretty quickly. I actually found myself reading and driving at the same time on a few occasions.

I'd love to build one someday. I thought it would be cool to find a wrecked latemodel one ton chevy or dodge diesel 4x4 drivetrain and put it into one of these vans. It would be ton of work but it could be done.
