Every effort has been employed to make this as accurate a recreation as possible! We started with a RHD HCPU with only 60k miles! The vehicle was disassembled, chassis/axles sand blasted and acid etched primed/painted. The entire body (individual panels hung and painted) was painted Bonatti Gray before reassembly. A later Discovery front axle was utilized for the LHD conversion, with new brakes, bushings, etc. The exocage, sliders, sand ladder mounts, and front bumper were custom made by RTE engineering - replicating the original but with greatly improved quality - and tied into the frame at multiple locations. Lastly, a fresh 3.5 V-8 with AUTOMATIC transmission was fitted, as were Corbeau seats - again, as per original. Seats can be added to the bed for a great one-of-a-kind beach vehicle, or as a true workhorse - as originally designed - even a soft top can be added for year round enjoyment!!
