Unfortunately juggling three trucks is turning out to be too much for me.
Many have probably scrolled through my previous post's for this truck, so it may seem familiar, although due to a number of issues discovered during the sales process last December a substantial bit of work has been completed.
To start, I am a Merchant Mariner. This means I work for 3 months at a time and then come home for approximately the same time. I try to spend my time playing and traveling when I am off, which is why I ran into problems when I put the FJ60 up for sale last winter. I hadn't been around the previous 6 months and the truck deteriorated a bit as it sat in storage. It came as a surprise to me as I started digging into it a bit that a couple of leaks and a rough idle were the tell tails of some larger problems.
Turned out at the time that there was a leak in the radiator, a blown head gasket, a faulty steering gearbox, a leaking gasket on the transmission and transfer case, oh and a new fuel pump was needed. Of course, these discoveries were made right before i left for sea again, leaving me with not a lot of time do to anything about it. I ended up taking the truck to the mechanic and had them spend 2.5 months sorting out all the issues.
When I came back from sea, the truck was running like a top.
THE TRUCK:
1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 with a TBI Chevy 350 (~55k miles) and a GM Automatic Transmission.
All original seats included, although rear seats are folded down and a sleeping platform has been constructed.
ARB front bumper with 8000# Smitty Built Winch and 2 KC Floodlights.
Defender Rack full top roof rack.
Custom steel rear bumper with 2" hitch. Can accommodate Swing Out, although never added.
(5) 33" BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires with 90% tread. (Inc. Full Size Spare)
Manual front locking hubs.
Old Emu lift.
Steel center console lock box.
Dashboard mounted radio. (although AM/FM antenna not hooked up)
THE WORK:
As I mentioned, quite a lot of work has been done on it recently.
-The head was removed and serviced from the block up. New gaskets, new ignition electrical (distributor, plugs, wires)
-New steering gear box
-New inline fuel pump
-Refurbished radiator
-New brake system (brakes, lines and master cylinder)
-New steering and suspension bushings
-Rebuilt alternator
-New portion of exhaust manifold piping
THE NEGATIVES:
-No air conditioning (although fan & heater work well)
-Piece broken off driver side tail light. (small ding as well from same incident)
-RPM gauge isn't working
-Drivers window is stiff rolling up
-1 of the KC lights is shining. I think its a wiring issue after the relay b/c the other works fine.
-Interior headlining is separated in a few little sections. Could be restitched, but mostly in tacts.
-Minor rust developing around rear wheel wells, particularly driver side.
Having put in all this work (I have receipts to show) and the overall condition/ cleanliness of the truck, I am asking $10k, or best offer. Truck is located in St. Petersburg, FL but I am willing to deliver. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email or text/ call.
