I wonder what would have caused the TC to fail if it only has 100K on it, and it's too clean to have been wheeled hard. ??

Very nice looking 60.

Agreed. And $500-600 would be assuming you do the work yourself? If it has a burned up t-case (ie ran without fluid) you can assume you'll need a good core ($200-300) and a rebuild kit ($250). You pay a shop for that work and it would easily be over $1k.

Agreed. I'm still looking too.

I've got two 1HZ diesels waiting for a home, one will end up in either my 40 or my wives 45 but I still want to do a SOA diesel 60. Though as lame as I am I've sold 4 60's in the last year, one of which was a SOA 62, FF, ARB's, 4.88's, etc. Just didn't use it lol. I guess I am real picky, I want a pristine frame, body & interior so I can yank the motor, spring it over and do bumpers, sliders and skids :D

Possible reason for the transfer case failure.

Was it the seal between the gearbox and transfer case that went on these.

I cannot remember if it is the 60 series or the 75 series that the seal goes between the gearbox and the transfer case causing the transfer case to pump its oil up to the gearbox. In Oz we used to put an equalizer hose between the fill plugs for the gearbox and the transfer case. (preferably before there was a problem).
