This rig on the Marlin Crawler forum is my dream wheeler. Located in Spain, but for the right price you could import and still get a good deal on it. Looks like he has updated the suspension (needs new springs), it had duals and a new 1-KZ diesel which is awesome. I love the hilux p/u , even more in the four door variety with left hand drive. It is my understanding you can import a car that is >25 yr old - someone do it!

With new springs and some minor mods, this could be the unique do-anything wheeler of the century.

They are nice rigs, but that one looks a little too "molested" for me... what's up with the bed's fenders?

BTW, did y'all know that this generation of Hilux which ended in 1988 in most of the world, was continued to be manufactured in South Africa util 1997?

I dig this couple's truck, which is an early 1990's Hilux from S.A., I believe. http://vimeo.com/20080788

This is a similar kitted rig, a 1992, that was recently for sale: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/4wd-for-sale-wanted/fully-kitted-92-toyota-hilux-64015

So we've got a few more years to save our pennies and import one that has just turned the right age from there :-D

There is a white '89-'95 body style Toyota pickup in Portland, OR I see occasionally. It's a four door, but appears to be completely custom. They definitely used factory body panels, doors, glass, etc.., but you can tell it is custom because the bed is the same size as mine and I have an extra cab. It looks like it was very well done from the outside.
