In Spain right now there are alot of resonably priced and fair low mileage 90 series LC's floating about but when i try and research whether or not they are any good i come up with little to no info.

Even on wikipedia there is nothing so why is this?

Was the 90 a european only model?

Are they worth it, do they hold upto the good name of toyota land crusier?

Are after market addons easy to come by like bull bars, lift kits et cetera?

I want a good toyota LC, was tempted by Nissan patrols but have read alot of horror stories about 3ltr patrols going bang and i do not have alot iof money to spend right now so i am after reliablity.

I am no stranger to the workshop and i am not afraid to fix vehicles but i cannot afford to buy a new engine after only 100,000km of ownership hence the indepth research i am doing at the minute.

Any and all advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

Stu

Just found out that they are called Prado's and apparently they are bloody good so might be buying one then.:wings:

Sorry if my posts sound cryptic but i have been racking my brains out to find a good family car that will last me the next ten years as i do not have alot of spare cash at the minute what with the economy going down the toilet.

We had a couple of 90 series Prados in Kuwait for a couple of months back in 2004 before we got our brand new 120 series Prados. I thought the 90s were pretty nice, and like mos Toyotas they have a good reputation.

You can see our two Prados in this picture, from a barbecue we had in August or September of '04:

I believe they had the same 3.4 liter V-6 that was on my Tacoma and is in my 4runner now.

I worked in Kuwait back in the start of the nineties LOL and left a few bullet holes behind so that they would remember me:sombrero:

Also worked in Saudi in the mid/late 90's for a while and drove quite a few LC's and Patrols hence the love for both makes.

Unfortunatly the Nissan 3ltr and its grenade like properties really put me off hence the investigation of all LC's.

Owned a Hilux and Hiace van and loved them both but need something a bit more practical as my family for some strange reason keeps getting bigger and bigger (maybe we need to go and buy a TV set or find something else to do) so i need a good solid family car for the occasional mild off roading.

I don't think i will mod it too much...........maybe some AT's, a good bull bar , snorkel, roof rack, winch, ten spot lights, lift kit, compressor, sidewinder missles but apart from that i will keep it low key..................
