Kitt Peak Tucson,AZ camping

My family and I are currently in Tucson, AZ and saw there will be a meteor shower on the 13th of Dec. We were thinking of heading towards Kitt Peak to camp for the night to check it out but I can not find any BLM or NFS land or dispersed camping info. Any options out that way or other suggestions for an overnighter?
