91 montero with 200K, and rebuilt engine

I saw ad in CL for 91 Montero LS with 200K, and rebuilt engine, seller doesn't say when engine was replaced, however indicated he had it for last 10Yrs, and no rust or leak this is Northeast truck. asking is 1200$, but he said he will take 900$ for it. what do you all think?

I haven't check 91 yet, however I went and test drove a 1995 LS with 143K on it 1- owner it is North east truck, interior looks VERY VERY good , you still could see original plastic cover, no paper work for timing belt work , however owner claims he replace already , under carriage there are sign of rust how do I tell if that is severer rust or surface rust? . He is not willing to come down of 4000$. what do you all think is it worth it? I offer him 2500$ he wants no penny less than 4K.

$4k seems high for Misu with 140k miles and no paperwork on timing belt. Rust? I would consider shopping in the south, fly down, drive home. Call a local shop to do an inspection, give them a CC and report back to you if a member here can't go look! fwiw

$4000 is laughable. I checked the Kelly Bluebook for an LS in Andover MA (as an example) and the High blue book is only $3300 and that's for an excellent vehicle w/out a single speck of rust...

I explained to him that his price is out or range compare to other, and possibly higher than dealers, I think he still attached to the car, undercharge has many rust area's that was my concern, interior is near perfect, too bad he didn't took care of it as far as exterior goes.
