I am looking for a stealth front receiver mount for my Xterra (2012 pro4x). I want to be able to shift the winch from front to rear and also be able to remove it as the Xterra is my dd.

The curt ones affect the approach angle so I am assuming it's a custom proposal. The
Thoughts?

have it custom made.

had a family friend who is a master welder and had his own shop.

nice job. he also made the cradle from a partial ford f-350 frame.

i was able to pull my 4runner sideways. i got close to an edge of a trail. it was pouring rain. it was an uphill trail. i started to slide sideways. my left rear tire was at the edge. i ran the cable from the front then to a tree to the right side. using a tree strap and a clevis and then finally to the rear bumper so the winch cable formed a triangle.

slowly, i hit the winch remote and started to move sideways.

i was about 5 feet when i stopped. i was able to slowly backup until i got to a safe spot.

the front receiver used the 3 bolts on each side of the frame for mounting. so there is a total of 6 bolts holding the receiver. toyota uses them for a towing hook on one side and a hold down loop, so it was made for that purpose.
