have it custom made.
had a family friend who is a master welder and had his own shop.
nice job. he also made the cradle from a partial ford f-350 frame.
i was able to pull my 4runner sideways. i got close to an edge of a trail. it was pouring rain. it was an uphill trail. i started to slide sideways. my left rear tire was at the edge. i ran the cable from the front then to a tree to the right side. using a tree strap and a clevis and then finally to the rear bumper so the winch cable formed a triangle.
slowly, i hit the winch remote and started to move sideways.
i was about 5 feet when i stopped. i was able to slowly backup until i got to a safe spot.
the front receiver used the 3 bolts on each side of the frame for mounting. so there is a total of 6 bolts holding the receiver. toyota uses them for a towing hook on one side and a hold down loop, so it was made for that purpose.
