I swapped the BW out and she right away thought is drove like a stock D1 and was way easier to drive and smoother to steer and park.
I have to agree![]()
LOL - she was just used to clunky ol' D1's
The last reason is on really slick roads such as ice covered crowned roads nothing works like a LT230 with the CDL locked.
disagree with this, too, but it's just a preference I think. Maybe it's because my first rover was the RRC with the borg-warner and I got really used to the way it drove. I thought the LT230 felt less sure of itself - much more jerky and twitchy. The smooth takeup of the viscous center was gone when an axle began to slip; I got really used to that sensation and could tell when it was locked up more than less.
To me, the B/W just made the truck feel really planted, which would coincide with the observation of being heavier and tighter. Everybody's butt dyno is a little different, I suppose.
The B/W exploded climbing a root shelf. The viscous was the last of my worries, as it turned out. :Wow1:
