Nate, sorry but I feel that it is an obligation to update everyone viewing and potentially interested in this truck with what I found out.

I saw dozens of photos, a recent toyota inspection (done for a previous potential buyer). Pulled a vin report and it came back with a ps front accident, but no mention of value or anything. I had Nate take even more pictures, top to bottom of that corner to ensure everything was straight. For all I know it was a minor ding. Other then that everything looked pretty good, nothing too out of the ordinary.

Next step was border paperwork, a bank draft and a flight to Seattle. I landed in Seattle @ 7:30am yesterday and met Nate at the airport. Took the truck for a quick cruise and pulled into a parking lot to take a look. What I found absolutely astonished me, and I cannot believe that this could have possibly gone un-noticed. Especially when taking dozens of photos and ironically none of that side, mid truck...

Yes, that is a torched out hole through the middle of the frame to allow the exhaust to pass through.

After finding that doozy I noticed another concern.

Needless to say it was a long and expensive day, to the tune of around $1,200.00.

And my search continues...

With regard to Eric, it is certainly not an ideal scenario to fly in and find an area of concern and I am certainly sorry and disappointed it worked out that way, but the exhaust/frame issue was unknown to me, and actually eluded two recent inspections, one at a Toyota Dealer, another at an independent shop, in addition to another independent when I purchased the rig.

For the moment, I'm going to hold off selling and make get an assesment. I have an upcoming trip on Thursday and the truck is going to a shop. When I return, I'll decide what my next step may be.

Yeah I was quite disappointed to say the least... It is rather unfortunate because it was in pretty good shape underneath otherwise.

Throughout the entire process Nate was very accommodating. I asked multiple times for different pictures and received exactly what I was looking for. He picked me up and seemed like an honest genuine guy. I have learned the hard way to be very picky when buying a vehicle that means something special, and this one stung.

That was a good chunk of change that has come out of my overall truck budget, but the real issue is that I will have a VERY VERY hard time purchasing anything non-local at this point.

fjrohrs,
Saw yours on mud, she looks awesome. Really wish you were closer!!
