Im selling my 97 Land Rover Discovery XD.

Ive had this truck for the last 7 years and its been my baby ever since. Ive maintained it properly since its a vehicle I have relied on out in the remote NV desert. I've decided that its time to start a new project, and let this one be enjoyed by someone else who has an interest in Rovers, or just the outdoors like I have.

vehicle specs:

Milage 106,700

Engine: New 4.6 V8 (march of 2006 at 62,878 miles)
Trans: ZF Auto (Stock)
T-Case: LT230 (Stock)
Front Axle: GBR 4.11, GBR axle shafts and CV's, ARB Locker, Tom Woods double cardon front driveshaft, OME steering damper w/ relocation kit, RTE adjustable panhard rod, RTE HD steering rods.
Rear Axle: Toyota 4.10 with E-Locker and Rovertracks 30 splines. Tom woods drive shaft.
Lift: 3" Rovertym suspension system with corrected front radius arms and rear trailing links. EE spring retainers, steel braided brake lines.
Tires: 285/75/R16 BFG KM2's (33")
Wheels: GCR steels.
Brakes: DBA slotted/drilled Rotors from EE

and all the other goodies

Armor: Rovertym slimline front bumper, RTE sliders (re-inforced the sills with 1/8" steel) Custom rear bumper that I rebuilt myself.
Diff guards, home made rear pinion guard, home made frame sliders.

Interior: Home made rear cargo area with tie downs, home made fishing rod holder in the roof, home made rear door table for cooking out in the desert. Waterproof seat covers with "XD" logo. New stereo system (10"sub in back may have a blown fuse).

other stuff...
Mantec Snorkel
SD low profile rack with wire mesh ontop. Hella 4000 pencil beams in the middle, Hella Black Magics on the outside.

The Truck originaly had a 4.0 V8, but it dropped the #8 cylinder sleeve, so I replaced the engine with a NEW 4.6 V8 and all the work was done at the local Land Rover dealership (still have documentation for it) The motor was replaced at 62,878, and has been very well taken care of ever since. I have changed the oil every 3,000 miles MAX, no more.
The Toyota diff I installed in the rear the first time was used (bought from a friend) and after a year I had problems with it. So now I have installed a brand New 8" 4.10 toyota electric locking differential from inchworm gear which sells for $1125 this diff has just passed 600miles of the break in period and all is running good.
The truck has a slite vibration at highway speed from the front driveline angle being just a few degrees off. I have the Rovertym castor corrected arms on it right now.

this truck has over $20,000 worth of offroad and drivetrain parts invested into it. Ive listed as much as i can think of, so just call if you have any questions. The pictures below show it with a custom half rack that I built, it does NOT come with the half rack, but DOES come with the full length low profile rack. The winch is NOT included either.

here is a build thread on the truck with more pictures!

I'm hoping to find a 96-97 FZJ80. I've always liked the look of them and a few friends in town have them too. So as soon as the Rover is gone the search will begin!

Cool, I think they are great.

I'm going to be the odd-man-out without one... :)
