97 LS: SOHC or DOHC?

I've found multiple threads talking about the LS being a 3.0 SOHC. I'm looking at one that appears to be 3.5 DOHC. 6G74 on the plate under the hood. Are there some LS's out there with the DOHC 3.5?

USDM 97 should be 3.5 SOHC.

The 96 and earlier 3.5 are DOHC. 97 is the only LS model with the 3.5 SOCH. A 97 LS was my first Montero three years ago. I now have a 96 SR . The 3.5 SOCH doesn't feel one bit slower the the 3.5 DOCH on my SR in my opinion.

According to Wikipedia, the 6G74 can be SOHC or DOHC.
