97 SR ?s

New to this forum so Hi to all, I am considering a 97 SR with 178,000 miles for $3000.00.

1. Price in fair condition is $3100 KBB ?

2. Engine for that year will I have to due the top end no matter what?

3. Anything else for that year I should know about.

where is it located? That seems too high for the mileage. The engine is probably the 3.5 SOHC, so you arent going to have to deal with the 3.5 DOHC butterfly issues, you will however probably have worn valve guide seals, as both the SOHC and DOHC had weak seals that produced smoke out the back when accelerating after sitting.

Has anything been done mechanically to it? If not you will definitely want to do the timing belt and related componets
