99 D1 Stuck In Park

So have searching on board all-day and found allot of good trouble shooting for the good old I'm stuck in park problem. I keep popping the Fuse. I changed the stop light switch today and still no tail light and pop goes the fuse. I have also played it the connectors on the rear glass with no progress. At this point I have maid no progress to getting the rover moving. I also have tried the quarter trick on the rear glass with no luck, but I might be doing it wrong. Any other Ideas as to what it could be?

Up Date New INFO. I have tracked a short to some where between the rear passenger tall light and the driver side light. I unplugged the passenger side and the fuse stopped popping. Any Good Ideas of where to start checking the wiring?

I think you have to get a new tail light.

whilst you have the tools out, remove and throw away the solenoid that keeping you from shifting

did you take out the bulbs or the lights?
my passenger rear light assembly had some short in it. replaced it and its fine. Although, the bulb was only going bad in my case.

Have you done any recent work to the truck?
A new radio? auxiliary lights? etc...?

Just New Rear speakers and when I got the Rover Inspected in Feb. I have to replace a brake bulb on the Pass side. Ill look at the bulbs again after work. One of the holders was a little mangled.

Closely inspect the bulb socket. These get all funky and brown. They can be replaced separately for like $10.

Two Were Light cream and one was more like Latte Brown. Is that what you mean? If so could I just pull the brown one and replace it with the back up light? You don't need them in Texas...

Oh and where is the solenoid for the shifter.

It's located behind the brake pedal arm. It will have a little white plunger.

Fixed It was the Tail Light Bulb Holder. I don't know may want to add that to the list for the future.
