Hello, I recently converted a commercial topper into a camper for my family. However, we tried camping in it for two nights and my nine month old son wasn't a big fan of it. We need to upgrade to something a little bigger so I'm reluctantly selling my creation.
I insulated the walls with R-Tech foam panels and then skinned them with grey carpeting to match the Bedrug that comes with the package. I also wired up a 12 volt power system that is run off a 60 amp hour AGM deep cycle battery and a 100 watt solar panel. An led porch light, led dome light, Fantastic Fan, and 12 volt outlet all run off the power. The electrical components hardly put a dent in battery usage, especially with the solar panel. I can run the fan all night and still have a bunch of battery life left.
I also built a futon bed/couch pull out apparatus that has a good amount of storage underneath. It's pretty unique because we can open the side windows and have a great view while sitting on the couch.
It's very light and solidly constructed from aluminum. We took it to Utah for our first and only trip and it four wheeled like a champ. We couldn't even tell it was on the back of the truck.
We really like it, but it's not big enough for our family. I'm trying to get $1400.00 for the whole package, but I can take the electrical components off and sell it for half the price.
