Needing to get away for a few days after the events of last I decided I'd head up to the 'City of Rocks' in southern Idaho for the weekend.

Shortly after getting back to grab lunch and too relax a little bit a storm had rolled in which produced rain for about 5 minutes before stopping. However, the dark clouds loomed for a while and thundered for a bit.

Sunday morning I was up with the sun more or less (630am) to head on out to bike one of the other trail in the park before heading back to Utah.

Arrived back home from the trip around noon on Sunday only to crash on my couch for most of the afternoon from exhaustion and sunburn. Overall, this was a great trip to great away from everything for a few days.

(Calling out to the universe that I am a part of, which is a part of me the same)

"Please let me be successful in laying to rest the bills I have this year in furthering my dreams for the coming seasons, until it is indeed time to go home."

Absolutely beautiful... Especially the flowers, the landscape views in the distance. The solitude, the silence, the sun, the beautiful clouds, the rains and the smells that sweep ahead of them. I miss that so much.

Thanks for sharing with us the trip.

Very nice pics.!

Can you give me an idea of how many mountain bikeable miles are in City Of Rocks?

Are most of the trails desginated 'no bikes?' Or just better suited for hiking?

Thanks!

If I had to guess I'd say maybe around 8 miles. You have the ride the trails one way then ride them back the other way to get anything out of them.

Most trails are for hiking. Only Tea Kettle, Geo-Watt and a portion of Stripe Rock trail you can bike on.

great pics...the city is a nice place to camp, hike, and climb. were there a lot of people? when we were there; we ran into people from all over who were there to climb as well. quite amazing that little place has such a draw.

btw...i took the road out of the city up to Burley on my way to SValley once. Nice little dirt road.
