One nice thing about Unimogs or similar trucks is that with 2 piece bolttogether or 3 piece wheels I can carry 1 mounted spare plus 2 unmounted; the latter are only ~95kg each when using partly worn 395/85R20 XZLs. No big worries about finding replacements in who knows where.
Maybe big tires carry a lot more load with lower ground pressure? I wouldn't get very far on 205R16s.
