AC noise inside cabin - how to fix?

When I run my AC at either very low or very high I have a reallyyyyy annoying clicking noise coming from what sounds like a small fan underneath or perhaps even inside the front passenger side of the dash. Can anyone tell me how I would go about diagnosing / fixing this?

From what I've read, it sounds like that's the fan blower motor, and it also seems like that'd be pretty easy to replace. I'm sure one of the Gen III owners on here will have a little more experience with it, but I know fan blowers will burn out or get noisy as they age. Mine's a bit loud (no clicking), but it works so I choose to ignore it! :coffee:

After some reading online it could be just debris has made it to the blower? I went out to my truck on my lunch break it looks like there are 3 bolts holding it in and if I take them out it should drop right out. I guess I will start there.

Mine likes to make some funny sounds every once in a while, but if i give the dash a nice thump it'll go back to good. haha

Mine started doing the same thing before it quit completely. It is just under the lower glove compartment. I purchased a replacement, but checked the original before it arrived by putting 12V across the terminals. It started running again with the noise, but the noise eventually went away. They are not hard to get to. Just unscrew the motor/fan assembly from the ducting. Grab a FSM for the 2003 3rd Gen from my signature. It gave complete instructions for diagnosing and removing. It probably just needs to be cleaned or sprayed with WD-40.
