Acadia National park Blackwoods campground: Anyone use an M101 on a tent site?

I am looking to go there this summer. I wanted to check in here to see if anyone has been recently to see about the feasibility of using my M101 with roof top tent on a tent site. Obviously I would like to avoid setting up shop in the RV section if I can help it.

When I camped at Grand Tetons in August, they had large (immovable) logs on concrete feet, blocking the area of your site where the tent would set up. No way could I have used a trailer and RTT set up there.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Never mind. Finally found some pics. Looks like they use boulders to block you from entering the area where the tent would normally be set up.

MDI campground would be my first choice of any camping on the island. Many private wooded sites and some that will accommodate a trailer located right on the ocean.

We stayed at Blackwoods last Aug and loved it. But like you said, the "tent" sites are blocked. The regular sites are pretty nice, but everything is pretty close there. One additional point, is that you can't choose what site you get, they make you just make a reservation for what type of equipment you have, then they pick the site for you. It is very centrally located, with a short walk to the coast and two different bus routes. The bus routes are the best way to go for most of the touresty areas as parking is pretty much non-existent with the crowds the park sees. The Mount Desert campground seemed more isolated, but we didn't have a chance to go in and survey.
