So my friend has a 2008 Acura MDX that he bought brand new and his lease is expiring in 2 weeks. He had about 58000 miles on it and I could possibly get it for about $40K less than when it was brand new...($66K). This is the Canadian version "Elite" which comes with absolutely everything you could wish for.

I had never really looked at these cars before but we drove it yesterday and I must say I quite like it. not for an offroad hardcore expedition vehicle, but for an all around car.
We were quite surprise about the interior size (even has a third row seat). There are tons of electronic gadgets, which would probably start breaking slowly, but overall the quality seems nice.

Anyone here has experience with them? We are looking to replace our BMW 325i which is falling apart, and possibly my 4Runner.

The older models are known to have some major transmission issues. My Grandparent's did manage to take their 2003 MDX to 165,000 miles with fluid changes every 30,000 miles. The transmission was on it's way out and they traded the it off. I am not sure how it affects newer models, but is the one and only issue they had with theirs (it seems fairly common). The interior and exterior were perfect, it certainly held up well over the years.

My aunt and uncle have a 2010 fully-loaded, and we drove it around ABQ New Mexico during Xmas. This thing, while nice and fun to drive, seemed to more geared for light trails, snow, and trips to Costco.

With the 2007 and up body style, you should be good to go, transmission wise. While you won't find too many parts to lift the MDX/Ridgeline/Passport, if you're happy with good handling on the road and in the snow, I think they're a pretty solid ride.
