I didn't know there was such a large group of EMS guys and gals on here. I passed my National Registry Paramedic last month. Been an Intermediate EMT for about 5 years now.

I am also surprised at the number of FF/P on this website! I guess we all think alike don't we! I'm a career FF/LP here in Texas and love it. As many of you have said paramedic school was a kick in the pants. Luckily I formed good study habits while obtaining my bachelor degree and they carried over nicely to my paramedic training. The funniest thing happens when you pass your registry. You forget a lot of what you learned and working as a paramedic is wayyy easier than going to school to become one!

Congrats!!! Six more weeks of classroom. Today we covered peds drownings. Not a fun topic, but Phoenix is the drowning capital of the world.

Two more weeks of classroom. We got our EKG final prep today. Man did it fly. I still have 4+ months to go, but im on the back side now. Looks like our dive team at work might be interested in using me as part of their safety team when I finish.

Had my pratical final today. Not my NRT, just final for our program, since we a college based school. A few BLS skills, static cardiology, dynamic, and "hot seat" pt senarios. I only killed one PT. I guess its a bad thing to push 5mg of valium to a activly seizing 1 y/o when the RN mom has already given 10 mg rectal prior to your arrival. Live and learn. Good thing I only killed a PT on paper. Won't make that mistake again. Smoked the other problems. Clinicals start Monday after my 700 question written on Friday.
