Afternoon Wrenching with my Kids

This afternoon the kids were milling around the house, so I suggested we wrench and spent a good time helping the kids install seats in their Monteros. Several years ago, Ray gifted a blue LWB to the Ranch. My daughter claimed the blue interior parts for her Monty, and my son thereby received tan interior parts for his truck. Ray's old truck will provide the engine for my son's truck, too. We put the bumper that PeteD gifted us on her Monty as well.

My father gave my son a large selection of Craftsman tools to son a few years ago. My daughter, more-the-gearhead, was left out until this afternoon...and I gave her a brand new tool set! She was really surprised.

RyanB contacted me about a surprise for Roxy, too. One day, a big box arrived. Here are the results:

Big thanks to Ryan for pieces I've wanted for a long time!! We're going to work out swapping for some things he needs.

Unfortunately, anymore wrenching will have to wait for my return from New Mexico at the end of the month. :(

a couple of cool builds you are getting going there...
I really like that body style on the Montero.
But honestly it is the time you are spending as a family that really makes all the difference.
Good on you for getting out there with the kids and teaching!

I learned with my father on Austin Healey cars, later on my own...yes, time to pass on some info.

Not really here
It's great that there are still people around that take the time to teach their kids the important things in life. What's even better is that your kids are willing to learn. I find it hard to find even an adult that is willing to learn.... Now my kid, she will listen and learns very fast. She doesn't mind getting dirty either, but if she has a choice she'd rather be doing something a little more girlie. I'm satisfied that she at least knows the basics though.

Once again, a BIG thumbs up to you sir! :clapsmile
