Airbag Question when replacing front bumper 95 RRC

I am preparing to replace the front bumper on my RRC with a winch bumper and am wondering what I need to be aware of regarding the Airbags. Are the sensors in the mounts? Will the airbags still work with the new bumper or will I get an SRS light? Anything else to be aware of. Thanks a lot. Fernando

The sensors are usually somewhere other than the mounts. As far as your new bumper being air bag compatible that could be a different story all together. However, if it is compatible then t it should list that in the specs of the bumper or the manufacturer should be able to tell you.

Put a RTE with a Husky10 on a 95, didnt deal with any of those issues. It is likely the airbags wont work anyways. The owner t-boned an older Japanese 4door maybe a Mitsubishi galant and the car had to be hauled away on a roll-back. RRC drove away, no air bags deployed.

The SRS system uses a yellow corrugated wrapped harness. You can follow the harness to two red plastic boxes a couple of inches long, one mounted above each chassis rail near the radiator. The bumper mounts are well forward of these SRS sensors. If you ever need access to it, the SRS ECU is under the centre console cubby box.
