Hello all, my names Theron, I've been on this forum for a little bit but never have done to much posting. I figured I would introduce myself and post my truck up here. I was born and raised in AK, went to college up there and joined the military, now the ram and I along with my wife and 8 month old daughter are down here in Fort Bragg, NC waiting to head up to Washington state.
Here's the specs on the ram
1999 Dodge Ram 1500
Rebuilt 5.9 gas engine, R/T heads, modded intake manifold, headers, K&N intake
315/75/16 BFG A/T's
2.5" lift
FabFours front bumper with lightforce 240's
Ranch Hand rear bumper with swing outs: 20lb CO2, tire and 2 jerry cans
Camper shell wired with interior lights
Homebuilt bed drawer system

I've still got some work to do on the drawers, I'm planning on doing the front of the drawers with the same wood I did the top in.

I really like the look of your Dodge AK. I hope to see some pics of that great rig doing some 4by4ing in the beautiful countryside that I know you have in Alaska.:truck:

Good looking truck! I can see that you are not messing around with that rear bumper. I feel bad for anyone who has a meeting with that thing!

Thanks everyone, that alaska cut out was done with a steady hand and a plasma cutter, it didn't turn out to bad.

Sadly it'll be a few years before we will be wheeling with the dodge again in Alaska. The military has different plans for where we'll be living than we'd like.

I'm not sure the name of the company who makes the headlights but there's really nothing special about them over the factory headlights. Someone slid into the front of the truck a few years ago and those headlights where cheaper than the factory replacement sport headlights I could find. I've got HID's in the projectors and regular halogens in the spot next to the HID's. With both lights on at the same time the light output is about equal to stock. They're not bad but I wouldn't recommend them.

AK Tank, I actually ran into you in the Lowes parking lot last year as you were pulling out and asked you about your bumpers, you gave me a card for fabfour bumpers. Good to see you on this site!! I actually got a different brand, went with the Road Armor set instead, but I still love that rear bumper on your rig. My spare is a little tougher to get down! LOL!! Hope you can see these pics this is my first post.

I remember seeing you there. You didn't have the lift or tires on your truck then either did you? Your truck looks awesome man. I love the ladder rack, what brand is it? I've been searching everywhere trying to find a ladder rack that will go over my camper shell with no luck. That and a single 35" A/T seem to be the hardest things to find here in NC.

Is there anyone in NC that knows of anywhere I can take the wife and daughter out camping and do a little bit of mild exploring. We go to carolina beach regularly but its getting a bit old.

Thanks Chiliwalk, plan to post more.

AK Tank, Thanks and you remember right, it was pretty much stock at that point. I had the ladder rack vision instead of a shell or standard roof rack. It has worked for me pretty well but the shell does have major advantages, I have been planning a Hannibal rooftop tent since I got it and still am this summer. The rack is made by Adrian steel and you can find it at www.TuffRacks.com. I was looking for the most robust rack I could find, and this one has the largest diameter and it is as thick on the top bar as the rest. I was able to run all of the wiring for the lights through the pipes and down to the bed. Also the 2" KC clamp mounts fit perfectly. I don't know how well it would do over your shell but I have seen some racks fitted to custom fabricated "ears" that stick out from in between the shell and bed. I can definitely see a way to do it though. If I can find a pic I will post it for you here. Wish I could tell you some good trails around bragg, but I PCSed to Alabama in april 10.

AK Tank, Here is the pic I found on here of Darwins old truck and he seems to have found a way to mount a ladder rack over a shell, good luck.
