Alone with my thoughts...SE Utah Solo in December

Thanks for the responses, folks. I appreciate it. I happened to have a day to put it together, albeit short.

I am really liking the Tundra, even though it isn't white. The tradeoff was I got the limited package with all the goodies I didn't expect to have. After a trip with some friends and their trailer to the San Rafael Swell over Thanksgiving, my notion of a Four Wheel Camper was nixed by my wife. Instead, I ordered a Leer 180 shell to cover the bed, and allow my sleeping back there. It has been great so far, and I expect to put a lot of miles on it this year.

Excellent trip report. I think you captured the joys of traveling solo in beautiful places perfectly. I have always enjoyed reading your reports, so thanks again for posting.

Those corrupting big RV trailers...

Though as you know, where you can go, ever slow, won't be the same nature's show.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I haven't sone much in the way of trip reports for awhile, as it seemed that people weren't reading much of them anymore.

I hear you, and I agree... However, I still have a modified 4Runner that can take me into those more remote places...

Great write up. It's almost strange to not see the Land Cruiser in your pictures. Do you miss it or have you "moved on"?

Thank You.

I miss certain aspects of the cruiser, but I find that I am more than content with having the Tundra. Once I get more familiar with it (and add the little things I need/want) I am sure it will have the same love the cruiser did. The power sure makes it nice...lots of 'oomph'.

We can always count on Mr. Moody for a well told tale and photos that urge you to get off your duff and go wandering. I don't do many solo trips though, other than for but a day. I don't know why but I always get sad after awhile and feel guilty not sharing what I'm experiencing with those I care about. I guess I'm gettin' soft in my older years. Anyways everybody needs to take time to just sit alone in the boonies and just witness the world as it goes by.

...as it seemed that people weren't reading much of them anymore.

Yet the ones who do would be severely disappointed if no one took the time to share their tales anymore. ExPo would be a much lesser place if trip reports faded away.
