Hi Guys,

I have started building a all aluminium camper. I have a rough idea of what I want, something between the patriot X1 and Mission camper.

So far I have the suspension cradle and chassis built.

Dimensions 3200Lx1875w box length is 2000mm with drawbar box 400mm

Tent is unchosen yet possible something custom made.

Chassis 100x50x6 6061 T6
6mm 5083 plates
3mm 5083 sides and guards
Camper boxes will be 5005 3mm sheet

Landcruiser 10in electric brakes
HQ manaro HD springs
31/10.5/15in tyres on sunraisers

Trailer frame sits at 750mm, trailer box will be another 750mm + tent

At the moment with the suspension cradle with hubs assembled and chassis is very easy to lift with 2 people.

The suspension cradle is steel. 50x50x4mm trailing arms. 8mm bisalloy brackets, 50x100x3 framing. Almost completely made from scrap laying around. It is not to heavy and I know it's going to be reliable out in the bush. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454263769.801903.jpg

Very nice! I haven't had the opportunity to use aluminum yet. I did a independent airbag suspension on my tent trailer. What are you using to separate the the two metal?

I'm relying on the thick paint and a bead of silicon to stop the water getting between the 2 materials .

Another update. I finally finished the fridge box and mounted it, still needs the internal fit out. Once I sort what ain doing about a fridge. Also painted the side steps gloss black.

I am thinking of vinyl wrapping the box gloss black and the door Matt black

It's turning out to be a slow build ATM haha
