Eezi-Awn Jimmy Tent!

New for fall of 2011 is the Eezi-Awn Jimmy Tent. It is a great addition to the Eezi-Awn Series 1000 or Series 2000 Awning. This ingenious design slides in to the front roller or profile of the awning, and opens with a series of tent stakes and 3 guy ropes. It includes a mesh window with a solid back panel for privacy, and a solid door panel with a mesh screen. The tent can be unzipped from the awning and driven away from if the need arises. Large enough to sleep 2 adults. Available in the United States through any Eezi-Awn dealer.

Looks cool.

Now it would be nice to see a video showing the setup and breakdown procedure and times.

How does that interface with the awning? Does it slide into a track on the front of the awning?

The reason I ask is that I have a Fiamma awning which has a track on the front. This looks like it might work with my awning as well...

The Eezi-Awn Series 2000 awning that is in the photos has a female welt incorporated into the design of the roller at the outer end of the awning. It is used for their Rec Vee Panel set to create a room around the awning, and for the Jimmy to attach to. I will see if I can get a photo of that recess for you. Perhaps it would work. I am not familiar enough with the Fiamma awnings to tell you yes or no on that one.

The other nice point to this tent is that you don't have to hook it to the awning to have it work for you. It comes with a set of poles to keep the vertical wall elevated. It can be a stand alone tent.

Cheers.

So can you still use the side walls on the awning to create a screen room between the tent & vehicle?
It sounds like this would be a great kids tent when the adults sleep in the rig or maybe the opposite.

Very cool and gives some of the same setup options as an oztent with alot less packed spaced when traveling.

Hey Lance,

Yes, you can still use the Rec Vee Panel set side walls while using this tent. However, they do not attach to the Jimmy tent at this time. You could put them in place, and stake them down vertically to enclose this are. It is a great way to add sleeping space for the kids.

Cheers,
