Another Anza Borrego day trip 1/26/08 - practice sand extraction

Due to my schedule my wife and I often travel alone. So we carry a PullPal too. Along with a 60" HiLift, chain, winch extention, two snatch blocks etc. You really have to take responsibility for yourself when you go out alone.

Airing down your tires to 6-8 PSI can make all the problems of getting stuck in sand go away. Even lower is better, make sure you don't roll a tire off the rim. Good write-up and pics.

Tim and Kelsey get lost..
Its too funny. I posted "I need to get out there sometime" and not 15 days later I headed out there for about a month and I am going back to finish up the Truckhaven area next week. Spooky! :sombrero:

I'm so disappointed I didn't know of this trail when I was out there or else I'd be all over it. Dam!

Oh and suweet Envoy! I didn't know they made a Rubi edition. HAHA.

Very nice. Can someone show me a thread to the build on that? My wife's got a trailblazer and I'm thinking... ;)

Thx. The Rubicon stickers were a way of reminding me the ultimate (and pretty much unachievable) goal, even though a buddy and I have taken his built Trailblazer (with 33's) and my Envoy (32's) on the easy eastern third of the Rubicon finally. (From Tahoe west to the top of Cadillac Hill and back).

Since 4 Wheeler magazine built, then dragged a Lexus on the Rubicon, I figured I should try to do something similar.

Anyway, there's a Trailblazer and Envoy enthusiast site www.trailvoy.com, and we hang out in the offroad sub-forum. My user name there is the same as here except with a space in the middle. Every trailblazer owner should be a member there, as the now-orphan platforms age there are a few unique but high-failure rate issues with them. I'm one of the chief technical volunteers on that site for 4WD, suspension, offroad tires, and electrical system questions.

There's no single build thread, unfortunately, since every single mod is agonized over and pre-planned and debated. Only two lift kits out there, but if you visit trailvoy.com and find any post by me, click on my username and the list of mods is in the "about me" section. See ya!
