Another ATV Adventure

I loaded up the ATV and embarked on another adventure this weekend. No snakes where harmed this time! This was a solo trip that began at Winona, east of Flagstaff where I left my truck.

From Winona I headed south on FR82 and this brought me out on Lake Mary Rd. just above Mormon Lake. I took the upper loop around to the west side of Mormon Lake where I picked up FR240 and headed west towards Munds Park. I then dropped down to FR226 and took it over to I-17 where it turns into Schnibly Hill Rd. and continued toward Sedona.

While in Sedona I went and run the Soldier Pass trail and made one lap up and down the tourist trap section.

After I topped off the tank I headed back up Schnibly Hill Rd. and made my way to FR700 that took me back to Flagstaff. I traveled through Flag and hit Schultz Pass Rd. and headed up into the mountains to find a camp stop for the night.

I was up early today as I hit the bag at 8pm last night. After exploring a few roads that I have looking at on the map but have never traveled I went back down Schultz Pass to the road that goes to the top of Mt. Elden. I have done this road once before in our truck but, I will say it was much more enjoyable on the quad. I tooled around on top of Elden for a while and took several pictures. Also found a great camp spot that I will be going back to.

After Elden I returned to Flagstaff and made my way back to Winona and my truck. This was an absolutly fantastic trip!!!!!!!

I love that area, and know it well. I need to get back up there soon...

Looks like you had a great time. We don't see a lot of ATV trips on here, thanks for sharing. Were the elk bugling, or is it still a little early?

I didn't hear any or see any. I did see a lot of bow hunters out though.
