Another NG Wheel Question

I know wheel/tire size is a lot of personal preference for 3rd gen runners or any vehicle for that matter -but I haven't tried enough combinations out to make up my own preference yet lol! So I'm installing my SS1.2 on wed-thursday at last! Just been waiting for some warm non-snowy weather.

I've narrowed down 3 tire/wheel options:

1: Stock 16x7's, 285/75/16's Tall skinny look, but cheapest option.
2: Steelies, 16x8's with 4.5 backspacing, 33x12.5" More $ but steelies are stronger then forged alum right?
3: Forged, 16x8's same backspacing (maybe ATX AX3985 or XD122 Enduros) 33x12.5" Even more $, but would prob look the best of the 3.

What do you all think? I'm going back in forth and need to make a purchase soon!
Thanks for your input -Marc

Stock wheels and 255/85r16's. I can air down to 15psi and not lose any ground clearance, tuck right up into the wheel wells and don't sling mud all over the truck, great on the street and better gas mileage than the wider tires.

How about 80 series Land Cruiser wheels? 16x8 with a little extra offset to push the tires out a bit. They look nice wrapped in 285/75/16's.

Yeah the I like the 80's series wheels as well. I've been watching ebay and have not found a good deal. Heck the online retailers want more then $150 for USED cond. wheels! That being said--Got a hookup or a low-down on some LC wheels?

Check it out (look up a 94 Land Cruiser). They are $179 each here, but the are remanufactured wheels and look like brand new ones. I bought mine from here about 2 years ago and they are still looking great. A new Land Cruiser wheel is over $600 retail from the dealership.

CA-RJ thanks for the link. The wheels look brand new and all -but $180 is still a little high for me. I dunno I guess it's I can't justify spending more money for a used and stock toyota wheel. Thanks for the reply though

You'll like the 285's. I have them on my 5 speed 4runner and love them. If you live in a flat area, you won't need to regear.
