Hi I'm new here but not top jeeping. I'm a mechanic by trade and specialize in differential gearing, and heavy truck repair.
I'm taking a trip to west Texas after thanksgiving, and am interested to know what you guys think is really necessary for a three day camping weekend. This is the first one I'm taking my wife on, so things have to go off without a hitch! Lol
The jeep is a 92 cherokee automatic.
So far I've got a 5.5" Rubicon express extreme duty lift, with drop cabs. 4.56 motive performance gears. I was running a powertrax in the rear c8.25 but it chewed its self up really fast, and Extremely noisy. So now I'm running open diffs front and rear again until the full case lockers come in
I installed a 231 J short shaft kit into a 231 D transfer case along with the 231 J pump. And am running the 231 D in the jeep currently.
