Antenna location questions

Gear

Explorer, Overland Certified OC0020
I need my Jeep to fit into the garage. So I am trying to come up with some good locations for my antenna's. I will be mounting a CB and 2m antenna. I am wondering if anyone else has decided to run to seperate locations for each antenna. My thought is to put one low on the back of the Jeep so it will clear the garage but be able to use it all the time. Then put a seperate cable to the top of the rack for when I am out on a multiday trip. Does this make sense and if so what do you think. Here are some photographs of the rack in progress. I have also thought about putting an antenna on the A pilar copying the radio antenna. Any thoughts.

This is how I did my antenna's on my 03 Rubicon. The reception was not the greatest but it did clear the garage.

Looking forward to some good thoughts on this one.

I have a Garvin Wilderness Rack on my TJ and I put my cb antenna on a quick disconnect right over the windshield mounted on the rack. I got a match of 1.1-1.3 with my radio. It is easy enough to remove when you need to fit it in the garage. It also gives me the option to use two different size antennas. I have a 2ft. and 4ft. whichever is needed is installed. I keep the spare in a pvc tube mounted to the rack.

One other option if you get a "flexy" antenna you can always bend it over and clip it, a lot like what you see Military H1's do.

I highly suggest Everhardt Antenna's, they have a unbelievable performance and aren't too expensive. Much better than Firestik! IMO

I have seen a bunch of different options for installing different antennae on a Jeep, here are all of the ones I can think of:

-Windshield with top load antenna
-Hood mounted
-Rear Bumper
-Rear Fender (above fender flares)
-Front Fender
-Rack
-Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier
-Front Bumper (Aussie Style!) (One of my favorites, though not ideal)

Hope I helped.

**EDIT** BTW Off topic but...how do you like those aux reverse lights I am in the market for some?
