Any comparisons between the rigid and other economy LED bars?

I see there are now a number of low priced light bars available on amazon and eBay. Has anyone seen a technical comparison between the economy brands versus the premium brands like Rigid, etc?

I'm running Rigid lights personally. Some of my friends have generic Chinese brands and they seem to work ok. The only thing that steered me away from them was warranty. I know that if anything goes wrong with my Rigid, I'll be taken care of locally. Most Chinese knock offs only offer a 1 year warranty and if you have any issues, good luck.

I have had the Rigid Industries lights for awhile now. I am very pleased with their products. I agree with Lecoq about the warranty. Should I have any issues with these lights, Rigid will stand behind them. Efficient, bright and bomber ~ all in one package.

I was hoping to hear from some who use the cheap brands actually or someone who's seen an actual online comparison of their light pattern as I'm sure the Rigid's are up to par.

Thanks. Is the light output & build quality of the aluminum housings comparable? I've heard some of the chinese brands use glass lenses instead of plexi which means they're easier to suffer from damage due to rocks. Have your friends experienced any issues with this?

TIA!

All LED's come from China. Even Rigid's. All Rigid does is buy them, etch their name into them, and modify the housing and bracket style.

From my understanding Rigid also designs both the reflector & (recently learned) more importantly the LED control circuitry which is key to their LED lights lasting longer but this is what I want to confirm and qualify.

So I'm wondering...
1) is this so?
2) if so, how much longer do they last?
3) if the reflector is better, how much better than the cheaper alternatives?

Nice... I like it. Although the skeptic in,me says its quite possible the other similar lights will be able to handle the same abuse since their design is so similar.

An independent source needs to compare the rigid a against the copycat lights using these same tests! That would be good!!

I ran a 50" Rigid Dual row through Central/South America and loved it. I also had two 10" single row Rigids. They were amazing lights. I now run a set of 10" single row and a 30" dual row of the Jasper Offroad brand and I can't see spending the money on Rigid again. They do put out more light due to reflector design but I think the build quality is the same and output difference is marginal. Take this with a grain of salt though as I am a biased an not-quite-independent source. :snorkel:

I took these a couple weeks ago. All shots f3.5, 1/6s, ISO800, 18mm, 4000k white balance.
