Any manifold chefs here??

I love to cook on the manifold. Going up to big bear, I always make awesome chicken burritos wrapped in foil. Sometimes I wrap potatoes, corn (takes a long time), hot dogs, etc. whatever else I have around.

This usually works best when you are rock crawling or just going slow and steady. The food has to be wrapped VERY well and placed just right to get the best heat.

I have a friend that does this as well and he makes tuna melt sandwiches.

Anyone else??

sweet chili prawns anyone???

omg you're making me so hungry. What is your ideal place to sandwich these morsels? In between tubes? Do you have some sort of method to keep your goodies in place? I have yet to do it, but I will next time I am out in the woods.

I've seen snow mobiles that had a little box in the engine compartment specifically for cooking with. There's really no reason why a guy couldn't make some sort of aluminum box and bolt it onto his engine somehow.

I'd just be concerned with making sure you are transferring the maximum amount of heat from the manifold to the 'box'. When you allow air in between the manifold and said box you are obviously going to cool the box. I'm wondering what the key is to this? Maybe a manifold with a little tray welded to it would be ideal... :)

with the inline 4.0 I find this to be the "sweet spot". Not overly hot so you don't burn it but enough heat when needed. Its hard to see in this pic but there is a nice little slot (highlighted in red) that seems to hold everything in place.

A friend has nearly that, bolted to his thermostat housing. "Belly Bomb" burritos are a specialty of his.

I make these stuffed rolls with ground beef, Ortega chillies, cheese, Olive,
and some of the bread I pull out of the rolls. Then I stuff the rolls w/ the mixture and freeze them wraped in foil. You can cook them on the manifold or
put them directly on a camp fire or dutch oven. Mmmm Good.
