any suggestions for getting scraped Aspen tree matter off of Monty?

Well, apparently Monty is under the impression he can go anywhere an ATV can go and got himself in between some Aspen trees last weekend that left him with some scrapes and bruises, so I'm looking for suggestions on what might get off the tree bark matter that is seemingly stuck to my paint. The minor dents the trees gave him will just have to remain as evidence of his awesome adventuring, but the long poop colored striping needs to go! I will try Goo-gone but he may need a stronger drink.

Wash and then use a clay bar on the sections with the sap? I've used a clay bar with great success for road tar and various bugs.

Try:
WD 40
Bug and tar remover
Maybe see if corn oil will dissolve it, then you can wash the corn oil off with soapy water

Tree sap is a bugger...

Polishing/rubbing compound
Mesquites plastic polish for headlight lenses.
Mequires! Sometimes that autocorrect pisses me off!

I have a few ideas to try, figured I would wait until after hunting season is over in case there are more to take care of.

Plain old butter works like nothing else to get tree sap off your hands. So maybe a vehicle too......

I would try the WD-40 like the others suggested, I've used it for tar and it worked fairly well, just takes a little elbow grease.
