Any way to mount Yakima bars on an M416?

I just picked up a 1966 M416 trailer to tow behind my Jeeps. I was wondering if there are any easy ways to mount Yakima cross bars to the trailer so I can carry kayaks and bikes? I'd prefer not to have to drill more holes in the trailer and thought maybe the Yakima EZ Rider mounts might work. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

These are the EZ Rider mounts. Any idea if these would mount to the "lip" around the top of the M416?

the ez-riders are made specifically for roof rails like my Forester had...don't think they would work. Look at the Lowriders or the lowrider Max:

These are your best bet to grab onto the rails on that trailer...can you post a pic of the rails themselves? much easier to tell that way...

This shot gives you a little better idea of what the lip around the top of the trailer looks like:

Lowriders. they work great and should be good for this application. You can lock them too which is really nice. it's hard to tell by most pics, but they clamp on pretty well from both sides and don't move.

This is how I mounted Yakima cross bars to my trailer
I bolted a piece of 2x2 angle iron to the side of the trailer & a piece of 2x2 on top of the angle. The bars are held on to the 2x2 with the same piece from the picture on top. They came off of 1A towers.

The lowriders should work great, you'll probably have to mount them facing out rather then in...but that doesn't affect their strength, etc...

Great. Thanks guys. I was under the impression that the low rider mounts went the whole way around the "bar" or whatever they are holding on to. I didn't realize the clamped on.

They used to go all the way around, as the Thule version do. The newer ones clamp, for a more universal fit. I'm using them on a RAV4 right now, I can get some pics of how them mount tonight when I get home if you like...

If you can get a pic, that would be helpful. Thanks.
