Anybody Ever Been To This Van Event?

I'm always cynical about things like this, but maybe it's worth it to get some info & inspiration? Seems like you could also just go to some kind of overlanding meetup for free inspiration, or just surf youtube and forums for hours?

The #vanlife is really a thing!

I am no expert in marketing, but I stayed at the Holiday Inn. The Web page and the video are puzzling: Not a single picture of van and half the video is a drone flying over the Florida coast!

Of course not a single mention of the proletarian E-vans, Savanna or Astro.

Next cities?

1. Brighton and Hove, United Kingdom

2. Portland, Oregon, United States

3. Salt Lake City, Utah, United States

4. Seattle, Washington, United States

5. Lisbon, Portugal

6. Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States

7. Miami, Florida, United States

8. Orlando, Florida, United States

9. Helsinki, Finland

10. Spokane, Washington, United States

"Ok students... so first you are going to want to remove the upholstery and panelling beforrre you install your insulation and interior... you see, hot air rises, so you'll want a vent in the 'roof' of your van. ... its very important to run the wires behiiiind the cabinets, so we'll install the wiring firrrst." :)

IMHO if you need a class to learn to convert, and you can't learn from trial and error + all the free resources online, you should be paying someone else to do your conversion.

My two cents.....although I am not interested nor will be, I do think there is a niche of "less than" mechanical types that have never attempted something of this scope so for $200 bucks, someone walks you through steps A to Z of conversion. This may be cheap insurance to see if you really are up to attempting conversion with road map to success.

Yes, you can find on-line but in a lot of instances on-line instruction skips over parts you may feel important or not clear.

That's true... and I only see the world through my own eyes. I grew up tinkering with mechanically inclined, DIY, carpenter parents guiding the way. More power to people that get into this kind of stuff with no technical skills to guide them!
